This is the Official Website of Newtown Volunteer Ambulance in Newtown, Connecticut
Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps is made up of 70 trained Emergency Medical Technicians who volunteer their time to help others in their community. NVAC covers an area of over 60 square miles and is one of the most active volunteer EMS providers in our region with a volume of over 2,200 calls and 30,000 volunteer hours per year. Currently, NVAC has three ambulances available to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) service. In order to provide advanced life support (ALS) to our community, NVAC contracts for a paramedic to be housed 24/7 at our station.
We Need Your Help
As our town continues to expand, so does our call volume. We need dedicated professional members as we continue to grow to meet the challenges of tomorrow. We offer the Emergency Medical Technician Course annually, along with on-the-job training once the EMT certificate is obtained.
Non-medical volunteers are also welcome to join as well.
